Teacher Bio

Jill is a working musician, performing solo concerts, playing in bands (currently R&B and folk to funk styles), and helping others to enjoy and learn music. She has studied voice, guitar, piano, composition and theory while earning her BA in Music and MA-IS degrees from Marylhurst University. She has performed for radio, TV & film, and recorded with various groups as well as her own music. Her experience in the business of music covers all areas from promo & booking to keeping records for taxes. Her career as a teacher has spanned over 30 years and she is known for her patience, knowledge and experience.

Basics include ear & rhythm training, proper technique, reading (note/TAB), and performance skills (including managing stage freight). Improvising and composing are encouraged!
