Teacher Bio

CHRIS KOKESH is a staple of the Northwest music scene as a writer, performer, and session player, and has taught two years at the Sisters Folk Festival Americana Songwriting Academy. Jeff Douglas of Oregon Public Broadcasting says, "Whether she's with Misty River or on her own, Chris Kokesh is writing songs that stand up with the best."

MATT MEIGHAN teaches the popular "Songwriting as Truth- Telling" class and hosts the weekly Songwriter Roundup show at Artichoke Music in Portland. He studied poetry at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics in Boulder, Colorado, where he earned an MFA in writing and poetics. He has been called "one of the most honest voices in folk music."
